To all Congressional Democrats

First let me say that this is not my site (obviously). And I cannot speak for DailyKos. Even Markos would be hesitant to speak for everyone on this site.
But this is my country. It's my Constitution. And it's my Democratic Party.
Unless and until you draft Articles of Impeachment against Attorney General Alberto Gonzales (at least), I do not want to see a diary from you. I do not want an e-mail from you. I do not want any mailings from you. I do not want anything from you.
You have already hollowed out your 2006 victory. By caving into the Bush administration and failing to force a change of course on Iraq, you have squandered any political capital you had. Congratulations on your adoption of Mitch McConnell's rhetoric that "supporting the troops" means condemning them to death (or worse) in Iraq. Now, you're all Mike Dukakis riding around on the tank. Clue: the public thinks you're spineless, cowardly bastards. They feel betrayed.
Now, Bush has commuted Scooter Libby's sentence. Even better than a pardon, because he can still plead the Fifth. What are you going to do about it? I'd say nothing. Once again, like with Iraq, you're betting that you can let the Bush maladministration do its worst, and just watch the votes roll in on election night 2008.
You are dead wrong. You are profoundly mistaken. This country hates cowards.
Get your asses to work. Use every Constitutional tool available to you to save our country and honor its foundational ideals. We've heard enough. We've seen enough.
And I have to give a special mention to Harry Reid. When Dems were a minority in the Senate, we couldn't do anything, because we were a minority. Nope, couldn't use the filibuster, because the Publicans might take it away. Now that Dems are a majority, we cannot do anything because the Publicans might (wait for it) filibuster! You make me miss Tom Daschle. Why you still have a job, I'll never know.
Again, people in this country DO NOT reward cowardice. Unless and until you find an ounce of courage between you all, you will not only fail to be re-elected, you will fail our Republic. If you won't respect us, the voters, at least respect your offices, and use them wisely. Your future, and ours, depends on it.
